Old Business:

The State Website has posted a current calendar and benefits available to all members. It can be located at the following web address: www.vafederationnation.com.  Please check calendar before each event for updates and/or changes.

Our BASS Federation Nation quarterly magazine, Hook Set, is still in need of ads and sponsors. Contact Mike Bryant for prices and availability.

Youth Day was held June 6th at King’s Grant pond. A thank-you card along with a picture was sent to all sponsors of the event. Each club was asked to pay $25 towards the event-a small fee to provide for the future of Bass fishing in our Region. All clubs were represented at Youth Day with at least one member present to assist.

On 7/11 at Leesville Lake Jacob Cooper qualified for the Junior State Championship that will be held on 8/2.

The Fall Classic will be hold on Kerr Lake, the date is October 24-25. The town of Clarksville has once again donated $1000 for a raffle. Tickets will be sold Thursday-Sunday.  The cost will be 1 for $5 or 3 for $10.

An open NIGHT tournament will be held on 8/15 from 7pm-2am at Smith Mt Lake leaving from Penhook—please come out and support the Region.

An Adam and Eve will be held 9/12 from 7am-1pm also leaving from Penhook and cook-out will be held immediately after weigh-in. The past tournaments have been a great success and fun has been had by all!

New Business:

Mike noted that the State BFN VA is in need of a Conservation Director as well as an Editor for Hook Set—anyone interested in either position, please notify him.

Mike shared highlights from the State Team budget. He also solicited ideas for fund raisers since there has been no major fundraiser to date in 2009 to help cover expenses.

Dues for 2010 will be as follows—B.A.S.S. will increase by $10, the new fee being $30 and State dues will increase as well by $5 to cover Hook Set, the new fee being $25.

Each club was given a handout of B.A.S.S. Benefits and a Club Profile to share with members of their clubs. Please complete the profile sheet and return to Pam Bryant and she will forward to B.A.S.S. In addition each club was given a new handout of the State Team Structure and discussion followed. Each club is to bring recommendations to the next meeting.
